C’est avec une immense tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de Mme Ghislaine Deschênes, domiciliée à Edmundston, épouse de feu M. Eugêne Abbis. Elle s’est éteinte à l’Hôpital Régional d’Edmundston le 10 mai 2021, à l’âge de 89 ans.
Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Roxanne Archibald (Peter) de Virginie et Michael Abbis de Moncton. Ses petits-enfants : Michelle et Seann, sa sœur : Germaine Deschênes (Yvon Moreault) de Dégelis ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Elle repose maintenant auprès de ses parents ainsi que Valderez et Maurice.
Ses funérailles auront lieu lundi le 13 septembre 2021 à 11 h en la Cathédrale Immaculée-Conception avec l’inhumation au cimetière paroissiale. La famille accueillera parents et ami(e)s a compter de 10 h en la Cathédrale Immaculée-Conception.
On se rappellera de Ghislaine comme étant une personne gentille et chaleureuse, toujours prête à aider les gens. Elle manquera éternellement à sa famille et à ses amis(es).
La famille désire remercier tout le personnel du Royer au Résidences Hôtel Dieu. L’amour et l’attention qui lui furent donné, durant les quatre dernières années, ne seront jamais oublié.
Un merci sincère également à l’Unité des soins palliatifs de l’Hôpital Régional d’Edmundston.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs Ghislaine Deschênes in Edmundston NB. She was the wife of the late Mr. Eugêne Abbis.
She peacefully passed away at the Edmundston Regional Hospital on May 10 2021 at the age of 89 years old.
Ghislaine is survived by her children Roxanne Archibald (Peter) of Virginia and Michael Abbis of Moncton. Her grand-children Michelle and Seann, her sister Germaine Deschênes (Yvon Moreault) of Dégelis, as well as several nephews and nieces. She now rests with her parents, her sister Valderez and brother Maurice.
Ghislaine will be remembered as a kind, warm hearted woman who was always ready and willing to help others. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
Her funeral service will be held Monday September 13 2021 at 11 a.m. from the Immaculate-Conception Cathedral with interment in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. from the Immaculate-Conception Cathedral.
Her family would like to thank all the staff at Le Royer at Les Résidences Hotel Dieu. The love and care you showed Ghislaine over the last 4 years will never be forgotten.
Also, thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Edmundston Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Abbis was my neighbor on Burpee Street for 10years and I enjoyed her visits. She would stop by to say hello sometimes while on her walks. She was a great lady and will be missed. My deepest sympathies to the family.

Although I have not lived in Edmundston for many years now, I always tried to fit in a visit with your Mom on my return visits. She was a dear sweet person, and I very much admired her generous and gentle approach to life. Dave and I were so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. She was such a kind and warm person, always so welcoming into her home.
