It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Guy Dionne announces his peaceful passing at Bobby’s Hospice on Friday, February 23, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on September 28, 1950, in Rivière-Verte, NB, he was the son of the late John and Ella (Ringuette) Dionne.

Jean Guy was an Autobody Shop owner for 31 years. He started his passion and lifelong commitment to his automotive lifestyle at MacKnight Motors in the 1970’s.

Jean Guy’s retirement years were fulfilled spending quality time with his immediate family and cherished grandkids, socializing with friends, and attending car events and shows that were always prominent throughout many years.

Jean Guy loved his family unconditionally and was so proud of their accomplishments and wholeheartedness towards one another. Jean Guy touched many lives with his kindness, modest personality, dedicated workmanship, friendships, his unique wild streak for muscle cars and his uplifting laughter.

Jean Guy is survived by his loving wife Wanda (McNeill) Dionne of 46 years, his daughter Jill Cormier (Terry), and Shelley Elderkin (Mark), three blessed grandchildren Luc, Lexie and Matthew, brother Normand Dionne (Collette), special lifelong friend Mike (Liz) Moreau, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jean Guy was predeceased by his brother Gilles Dionne.

Jean Guy’s family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Michael, the oncology department at Saint John Regional Hospital, Extra-mural, Bobby’s Hospice, and the Palliative Care team.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (506-646-2424). Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 9 am – 11 am with the funeral service beginning at 11 am in the chapel. Interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery
